New for 2007-08!

Do you like shows like Grey’s Anatomy, House, or ER? These shows use case studies to entertain and inform audiences. In a typical case study, a mystery needs to be solved. For example, a patient is ill, but the cause is not immediately noticeable. Coming this year to the biology classroom is a new student area solely devoted to investigating case studies. It has been named Kittiwake Korner after one of my favorite birds, the black-legged kittiwake. Thanks to a generous donation of furniture, Kittiwake Korner is a cozy student retreat meant to mimic a coffeehouse style seating area. Here students will solve medical mysteries as they pursue a greater understanding of biological concepts. It’s going to be a great year of fun!
