Good News!

Oh, this blog is getting so exciting! Keep the posts coming! If you’ve submitted a post and you’re wondering why you haven’t seen it published yet or at least heard back from me about it, please be patient. There is a long line of posts waiting to be published. I don’t want to submit posts too often or the previous post will not get enough attention.

Good news! I’d like to declare an official day of the week positive post day! On Wednesday of each week I will publish an uplifting blog post. Has a cure been found for a disease? Will a new type of technology revolutionize the way we live and help the environment in the process? Any positive news story related to biology will work. I need submissions so start happily researching the good in life.

More good news! I’m currently in the process of designing the First Annual Biology Blog Awards Ceremony to take place late Spring. I haven’t worked out the details yet, but I do know there will be awards given for the following:

  • Best Biology Blog Post of the Year
  • Most Popular Blog Post of the Year
  • Best Comment Writer of the Year
  • Best Comment of the Year

More defined categories (e.g. best environmental post, best genetics post, etc.) may be added later. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges not affiliated with the class. So work hard on those blog posts and comments!

Yours truly,
Miss Baker

This is so cool. Go, Positive Post Day. I will want to hear more about this. Also the award ceremony sounds like it would be a lot fun. I can’t wait until the first one comes out.

I am glad that there will be a positive day. Last year in Mr. Page’s Class we had positive Monday. It didnt get to far though, but i am glad we have this to help us get over the HumpDay in the week.

jake is right, we always hear about all the bad things happening in the news, but sometimes you just need to hear something good! By the way, miss Baker, I thought it was cool how you showed us about that teacher that found our blog. it was cool how she said our blog was inspiring!

I agree with Amanda and Jake. There’s so much depressing stuff out there to hear about, and even on this blog, there’s depressing issues. What’s wrong with being possitive, at least for the moment?

I really like the idea of positive post day, and the awards to. Both things help getting even more involved and more excited about the blog then we already have shown. I think it would be really really cool if people from across the country looked at this in their different biology class, wouldn’t that be so cool if this blog made a difference in peoples opinion on biology?

yeah, it will be nice to hear some good things for once, i guess. hearing about the bad stuff kind of grabs my attention more though, but im not trying to sound mean or anything. Good stuff is… well… good.

This will be nice to hear some good things, like Danielle said. I think that we have been so concerned with blogging about the watering ban, global warming and carbon emissions that we have forgotten that there is good stuff to talk about. It will definately be nice!

I think that’s an excellent idea. Speaking for myself, I could definitely use more positivity in my life. I know it is important to hear about global warming and the ozone layer, but not all the time. I also think making the blog into a sort of contest is a good idea as well. It makes it seem less like work and more fun. Plus a little competition is good once in a while. Once again, nice job Ms. Baker!! :)
